Wannenmacher Advertising Company began in 1985 when Paul Wannenmacher left a successful stint as an advertising manager for McDonald’s Restaurants in the Detroit and New Orleans regions to start his own agency. As Springfield’s downtown landscape has transformed into a center of trendy restaurants and restored businesses, Wannenmacher’s address has moved only slightly: From 209 E. Walnut next door to a building he restored at 211 E. Walnut.
